In which Gordy and Priscilla have both done very well.
Gordy’s grandfather is in the running for being one of the most prominent and influential characters never to appear in the Liaden series. He’s mentioned several times in this book, and was mentioned several times in Local Custom, and will be mentioned in at least one short story that would arguably be very different without his involvement in the backstory, but he never makes a direct appearance.
He does make a direct appearance on Splinter Universe, in the never-published partial draft of Shan and Priscilla Ride Again, though I don’t think that really counts as canon because it was, after all, never published and not really worked on after certain events in the universe had superseded events in the draft. But anyways, he’s a lovely character.
Just coming to make that comment myself!
It may not be canon, but the authors published it for us to enjoy.
